Suite Two

Suite Two is a one bedroom suite and situated on the ground floor and spans the building thereby enjoying spectacular views of the Pap of Glencoe to the East and Loch Leven to the West and benefits from having a private terrace with hot tub. This spacious suite occupies 127 square metres; historically these rooms were Lord Strathcona’s private rooms and as such possess astonishing period features that reflected his status. The suite is composed of a generous bedroom, bathroom and substantial private sitting room that is 55 square metres in itself.

The Sitting Room

One of the key defining features of Glencoe House’s elegant accommodation is your personal private sitting room, which creates the ultimate retreat and hideaway. As Lord Strathcona’s sitting room, the exceptional period features makes for an exceptional room. At 55 square metres, your private sitting room gives a sense of space and opulence. The intricate plaster work ceiling reflects one of the original uses of this room with a series of musical instruments amongst the symbols on this rich and ornamental ceiling, which is lit by two 12 branch, crystal chandeliers. The room contains striking original marble open fireplace, which can be lit to give a warm glow of an afternoon or in the evening while enjoying a drink from the generously stocked ‘maxi’ bar in your antique sideboard. Other period features include the solid oak flooring and original window shutters.

Breakfast is a relaxed affair, which is served at a time of your pleasing at your personal, full-sized dining table in the sitting room, which can be enjoyed while admiring the spectacular view and contemplating the day’s activities together with your choice of daily newspapers.

The Bedroom

When entering the bedroom through the intricately panelled door it is difficult to know where to look first. The room has retained the original ornate ceiling; the elaborate plasterwork is composed of a series of fruit, flowers and ribbon images and is undoubtedly a unique feature of the room and is illuminated by the twelve branch, crystal chandelier. The view from the room is no less spectacular as the large bay window was designed to frame the famous mountain, The Pap of Glencoe. The “Glencoe House Rejuvenating Bed Concept” allows for a restful and restoring night and is tailored to your every need with 300 count Egyptian cotton. The room measures 27 square metres. We offer a turndown service that includes closing the window shutters and a hot water bottle to warm the bed if desired. The antique mahogany dressing table and large three door wardrobe adds the finishing touches to an elegant and refined room.

The Bathroom

The bathroom offers decadence whether you yearn to sip champagne in the original Victorian, free standing roll top bath or enjoy the “Glencoe House Energising Shower Concept“. The room measures 16 sqm / 172 ft2. This shower, designed by leading German bathroom manufacturers Hansgrohe, has a 300mm shower head where water and air are blended to emit large rain drops. This outstanding shower technology envelops your entire body in a deluge of hot water; however owing to the innovative technology it is also environmentally friendly. The room also boasts ‘his’ and ‘her’s’ wash hand basins for that individual touch. The bathroom toiletries extend the sense of opulence with the generously full sized bottles of Aveda products.

Suite two enjoys an expansive private terrace and hot tub. The outdoor space has been designed to take full advantage of the panoramic views over Loch Leven, the Glencoe mountains and the memorable sunsets. Weather permitting of course, it is a lovely location for breakfast or to end your day with a chilled glass of wine or champagne from your generously stocked in-room maxi-bar.
